Do you know what today is y’all? It’s my little sister, Nicky’s 49th Birthday!! Woot! Woot!
Please help me in wishing her a very Happy Birthday and spoiling her all day! Fill her Facebook with messages and/or text messages if you have her number. (If you don’t send me a private message and I will give it to you).
As sisters go – I hit the jackpot with mine. Oh, don’t get me wrong, we fought like cats and dogs when we were little and a couple of times even into young adulthood, however, as we grow older we realize that all of that was a big waste of time. As we all know, with age comes wisdom. (Thank goodness for that wisdom – can I get an Amen?)

For those who know my sister and me then you know that we couldn’t be more different than night and day. My sister has always been the social butterfly and I have always been the one that was more focused on work and school. Nicky knows everyone and I mean EVERYONE – if you have ever hung out with her and gone anywhere, she knows at least one person – usually more – wherever you go. People relate to me as “Oh you’re Nicky’s sister…..” and that is okay. I usually have been known as the tough one, the tough sister. The one who was always willing to protect my little sister at any cost against anyone – and yes, that is still me.
My sister was here when I was diagnosed with TNBC, in September, in fact, we were sitting at the nail salon getting a pedicure when the call came in. She cried with me and comforted me during those days that followed. She has gone out of her way to send wonderful packages with all kinds of thoughtful items – all of them carefully researched and picked out after she “consulted” with her friend Jen, another fellow survivor.

My sister’s besties – Kelly, Denise, Cheryl, Jenn, etc. – all reached out to me upon my diagnosis FaceTiming me, texting me, and sending letters, cards, and gifts because when you’re Nicky’s sister, you’re everyone’s sister. Do you see how blessed I am? (Praises peeps – I am one lucky girl!).
All in All – I just want to say:

Nicky – you are still as pretty as a rainbow (you know the song, I bet you’re singing in right now) and I wouldn’t trade you for ANYTHING in the world. I hope your birthday was amazing and that you continue to celebrate all week long. I am so lucky to have been given you to share my LONG life with. I look forward to growing old with you by my side. I love you! Happy Birthday, baby sister. I can’t wait to hug your neck one day soon.
xo,
Tracy
P.S. please flood Nicky’s page with love – she deserves it!
