NOTE:  I am not a doctor but just providing information that I found helpful during my journey.  Before starting or stopping any medicines, changing your diet, etc. CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR.  They will provide you with the best treatment for you and your personal situation.  Also, I am not paid by any of the companies below for sharing their product.  This is strictly informational on what I used and what has worked for me.  Xo, Tracy

  • Mushrooms – There are a lot of new studies showing how these fight cancers – mushrooms irritate the liver and are not good to take during chemotherapy.  You should switch them up by  taking one mushroom one month, then the next month take a different mushroom, rotating back and forth.  The ones recommended to me were:
    • Agaricus mushrooms –needs to be greater than 40% polyscrines, 2000/mg daily – put in water and take on empty stomach = 2 grams AM and 2 grams PM.
    • Turkey Tail mushrooms – greater than 40% polyscrines, 3000/mg daily – split the does ½ AM and ½ PM
  • DIM Supplement for woman – 150 mg 1x daily, this has an estrogen component to it.  Make sure you speak to your doctor before taking this supplement.
  • NAC or N-Acetyl-L-Cystenine – it will help to detox the chemo stored in your fat cells once you are done with chemo.  Start this 2 week after chemo stops and take for 3 months.  500-1000 mg 2x daily with food.
