Hello from Houston!  

Apologies that I haven’t had a chance to post anything until now. It’s been a bit of a crazy week with starting back to work on Monday and starting radiation at the same time as well as dealing with some water issues that we’ve had at the unit that I rented for Nicky and I. It’s been quite the week so far.  We had issues with the water and water pressure in our unit which (apparently) the maintenance team knew about. We had a new hot water heater put in our unit yesterday. They did provide us with access to another unit so we could shower, wash clothes, etc. Thankfully, Nicky and I are both remote workers and haven’t had any “on camera” meetings this week. Also, we only had to tolerate each other so it was bearable. Everything is in working order now and they were gracious enough to provide us with a small refund for the inconvenience. All a win-win as far as I’m concerned. 

I started my radiation treatments on Monday. So far, radiation has not been so bad. It takes longer to get undressed and setup for the radiation treatment than it does to do the radiation procedure. Usually, shortly after I get the radiation treatment my skin feels a bit “sore”. It’s hard to describe. It feels a bit like how your skin feels when you’ve been out in the sun all day. Although, not like you’ve been in the beach all day. It is slightly tender and sore. It is not turning any colors lately which is a good thing. After tomorrow’s treatment I get 2 days off. Praises for that!

My sister, Nicky, has been taking such good care of me.  Tonight she cooked an amazing dinner for us and allowed me to chill on the couch after work while she cooked and I was able to put my PJ’s on and just sit and relax.  I was feeling a bit tired this afternoon, however, I think that was from getting up at 6:15 am so I could be at radiation at 7;15 am.  Either way, I am blessed y’all.  BLESSED to have this time to spend with Nicky, even if we are just chilling on the couch watching tv together.  This weekend we are going to try and go to the Houston Zoo.  God willing it will not be so hot and unbearable that we are miserable.  We shall see…

Tonight I will leave you with a picture of myself in the waiting room for radiation this morning.  Notice I’m the only one there…. No one else wants the 7:15 am time slot – just crazy me!
