Just fair warning for those that are easily offended this post may not be for you. Although if you want a good laugh or chuckle today – you may enjoy this one-off blog. This is a true story of how this little conversation happened. I hope you get a chuckle as we did.
The other evening I was heading to bed for the night when I started thinking to myself, I wonder how mad my left boob is at my right boob. I mean come on, think about it. My poor left boob has just been hanging out there (literally) minding its own business when the right boob decided to misbehave and get cancer which is now going to cause my poor left boob to (potentially) have to undergo some sort of reconstruction surgery and be subjected to being cut on, which is NOT something that my left boob signed up for, however, it has no say in the matter. Think about it – how pissed would you be?? I would be so mad. Just saying!
I immediately came out of the bedroom and told Mano about this enlightening thought that I just had about how mad my left boob has to be at my right boob to which Mano replied: “So these are the things you think about?” and of course, I answered “Well, yes…. don’t you?” and in the spirit of the normal banter between my amazing husband and myself he replied, “I’m sure that your left boob is also pissed that your right boob is getting ALL the attention recently too. I mean every doctor’s appointment the right boob gets examined (to put it nicely – it gets a free massage) and the poor left boob gets passed over and is just hanging there waiting for some attention.” Now that is something that I didn’t think about but putting it into perspective I’m sure that my left boob is REALLY mad at this point with this whole business. My right boob had to go and misbehave and now my left boob is being taken for a ride that it never signed up for – sheesh that is enough to just make you really mad, isn’t it?
Of course, after this enlightening thought and conversation that we shared, I immediately had to share this with my mother because she of all people loves a good chuckle – which of course, she did have a good laugh over this and also said “This is what you think about?” and well, you know the answer. I also had to share this conversation and story with my chemo nurse Brandi on Friday, who also got a big chuckle out of this, and well – I didn’t want to leave you guys out because I know how much many of you need a good chuckle too and in closing I would just like to say “You’re Welcome!”
I hope you’re all having a great Saturday and enjoying a fantastic weekend. It’s cold and really windy here today thus most of us Texans are staying inside. The high today is 60 degrees but currently, it’s 48 degrees with winds of 40 mph and some gusts being 50-55 mph. Trust me when I say it’s cold – especially if you have no hair. It will make you realize how nice hair is to keep your head warm. I know right now I am getting NO sympathy from my bald friends (you know who you are) and that is okay.
Sending everyone big hugs and love from here – I will write another blog to give an update on chemo and my next steps separately. I hope you enjoyed the chuckle! Like I said earlier, “You’re welcome!”
Xo,
Tracy
