Hi, y’all –

Happy Saturday!  I hope that everyone is having a great day so far.  I am on my steroid high after my chemo yesterday so today and tomorrow I will get a lot of stuff done and then Monday will be my crash day when I’ll be in bed again at 8 pm.  Good times – PRAISES for the steroid days.

Quick update on my uveitis from my doctor’s appointments on Thursday.  I went in for my eye checkup Thursday morning and my infection wasn’t any better, in fact, the doctor was concerned that it may be getting worse.  I left the doctor’s office knowing that I would potentially be back Friday afternoon to get another checkup and continue with my drops every 30 minutes.  My doctor wanted to take some time to call some of her colleagues and run my situation by them since my case of uveitis is rare, to say the least, and has always been tricky to treat and deal with.   I received a text message from my doctor shortly after I got home and she requested that I go see a colleague of hers for a second opinion.  So, off I went to the second doctor on Thursday afternoon.

I was seen by two doctor’s in the same office for a second opinion.  I was seen at Lake Travis Eye Center – their website is linked here.  The doctor’s there – Dr. Dang and Dr. Rhodes were wonderful.  They took great care of me and felt that my eye was although not any better they did not think it was any worse.  (PRAISES).  I also remembered that on Friday I get a shot of dexamethasone (a steroid) with my chemotherapy.  All the doctors were in agreement that the IV steroid should help with my eye issue and (fingers crossed) by Monday when I have to get my checkup again – it would be much better.  The outcome was to stay on the path and keep up with the steroid eye drops every 30 minutes through the weekend.  I will keep y’all updated with the outcome of my Monday appointment to let you know if it’s better or not.  (PRAYERS PLEASE!)

Otherwise from that – my Saturday has been good and uneventful – which is always good.  I am feeling good (again – yeah – steroids) and I did go to acupuncture today.  I still say I have no idea what that does but I do know that I feel so much better when I go and I haven’t had the side effects that others have had which leads me to believe that it does something.  In fact, acupuncture is recommended by most Cancer Centers as a treatment for additional support during your treatment.  I can tell you that I will continue to do acupuncture even when I am done with this cancer journey.  There is something to be said for an ancient practice that has been around for many, many years.  Here’s a link explaining a little more about acupuncture for those who don’t know much about it and here is a link to Good Point Acupuncture in Round Rock where I go.  I can’t say enough GREAT things about Yvonne, my acupuncturist.  If you go, please tell her that Tracy sent you! 🙂

Maybe I will shoot a quick video tomorrow to check in with everyone.  Who knows, we will see what tomorrow brings.  Whatever is on your schedule for the remainder of the day – enjoy yourself.  Mano and I  have found a new show that we are watching called Billions on Showtime.  It’s been around since 2016, I think and it has 5 seasons and it’s amazing.  We have said for the past week, “How did we miss seeing this show – it’s SO good!”

Hugs and love to my village – thank you for staying on the journey with me.

Xo,

Tracy
