Hi, y’all –
I’m sure that many of you, like me, can’t believe that today is Christmas Eve and tomorrow is Christmas – I mean where did this year go?
For many of us, this has not been a great year. Many of us have experienced illnesses, deaths, COVID-related issues, financial issues and so much more – as this year has been like no other that we’ve ever experienced now has it?
Yet tomorrow we will celebrate more than the Christmas presents that sit under our tree. Tomorrow in my home we will celebrate the birth of our Savior – can you believe that a little baby was sent to us to guarantee that we would have everlasting life? I am in awe of this each year… but this year especially.
Trust me when I say there is nothing that will test your faith other than being diagnosed with a potentially life-threatening illness. Well, that or going to jail. I know a few that found Jesus in jail also. (silently giggling – if you know my family then you know who some of those people are).
No matter where you are tomorrow and who you are with, please take a moment to say a prayer thanking God for sending us a Savior to provide us with everlasting life. I always say we are not worthy of the gift we’ve been given, yet we are able to receive it when we are prepared to take HIM into our hearts and acknowledge that through HIM we can have eternal salvation. We are not worthy – but that didn’t matter, did it? That is so special.
Our family is experiencing a very different Christmas this year. There are only a few gifts around the tree but there is an abundance of gratitude and love in our home. My heart, although sad that my Florida travel plans had to be canceled, is still full knowing that I am alive and fighting each day for a full recovery from this ugly cancer diagnosis. I am grateful for all of you in my life who continue to send me supportive messages, cards, texts, calls, notes, gifts, etc. You all have gone above and beyond in ways that I never thought. The words Thank You will never be enough, but they are the only words that I have, so Thank you!
On this Christmas Eve, I want to wish you all a very blessed Christmas with you and yours. I pray that your homes are filled with those you love and lots of laughter and that your hearts are full. Enjoy the moments together as they are more valuable than any gift you will ever receive. Trust me!
Blessings to you all and Merry Christmas from my family to yours!
Xo,
Tracy
