Hey y’all –

I wanted to share a quick update in today’s Taxol treatment.  I’m calling it Taxol #2 in the books!!!

Best news, I got Brandi again today or should I say she got me!! That’s always the best when I have my nurse who gets me while administering the poison, oh sorry did I say that out loud?  I meant the infusion for my treatment. 

I did use ice packs for my feet/toes and hands/fingers today. Let me tell you that’s not fun. I held and applied them for 10 minutes on and 10 minutes off. While holding the one in my hands I kind of bounced my fingers on the ice pack when my fingers turned red and started feeling really numb. Like tapping your fingertips on a countertop. Thankfully once they start the Taxol it’s only an hour to drip the whole bag. 

It’s cold on top of the cold. Your in a cold infusion room, getting cold saline/chemo/other drugs being dripped into your body and you’re holding a COLD ice pack with another COLD ice pack on your feet. It’s all just so cold. Honestly y’all I have never loved my heated seats more than I do when I leave chemo and I can warm my cold self up. 

I also did acupuncture today too because of the holidays my acupuncturist is closed after today till next week. Yvonne was wonderful, she got me in early today so I could then go home and get in my Jammie’s and on the couch. That’s one of the good parts of chemo day – no one, I mean no one questions why your in your PJ’s at 3 pm   Hallelujah!!!

My blood work is staying pretty steady. My WBC counts are low but not “critical” low (PRAISES). I’m still anemic and today my PA said that is probably going to be the “way of life” through all the Taxol treatments and afterward for a bit. So, if you need to talk to me I will recommend a call before 8:30 pm because that seems to be my current bedtime. Hahaha. I have become my parents. (Love you Mimi and Pa).
