Happy Sunday Funday y’all.
I wanted to check in with everyone to know how I’ve done since my first Taxol treatment on Friday. Brandi, my favorite chemo nurse was right, we didn’t have any allergic reaction to Taxol while it was being administered and I also did well when I got home. PRAISES!!
Taxol did not have any of the side effects that AC did – the nausea or the headaches that I had previously. The symptoms that I did have was feeling tired from the Benadryl they give before treatment and I had trouble with putting my words together- chemo brain they call it. I also had a slight headache but nothing that some Tylenol couldn’t fix.
I was hungry Friday night, which I had not been previously because of the nausea, I actually ate 1/2 a hamburger and a few fries. Yeah, I know, it’s not the best food for me but after chemo comfort food seems to do the trick.
All in, all Praises lifting for this past treatment being so much better than the last ones. Taxol #1 of 12 in the books.
Today I felt good enough to get out for a bit. I put in makeup today which I haven’t done since being diagnosed I. September. We, Mano and I, had lunch with friends and I got a cup of coffee that tasted delightful. It was nice to see something other than my house and my four walls for a few moments.
Thank you all for checking in with me these past few days. For praying for me and for lifting me up. I am so grateful for all of you.
Next steps:
- 12/23 – Taxol #2 this time I will be holding ice packs to hopefully prevent some neuropathy.
- 12/24 – Christmas Eve
- 12/24 – Christmas Day
Mano and I would like to wish you all a joyous week as you prepare to enjoy the holidays with your family and friends. As my sister said the other day, for us this year Christmas is about those around the tree rather than the gifts under the tree.
I for one am so thankful that A savior was born for us to celebrate!!!
Wishing you all a wonderful week as we approach the Christmas holidays!!!
Xo,
Tracy
