P!NK – All I Know So Far (Extended Version)
Hey, y’all –
Just wanted to post a quick check-in for everyone to know the outcome of this last chemo.
PRAISES first –
- No nausea
- No headaches
- Medicine is managing the symptoms well
- One more AC treatment to go on 12/03
The only challenge that I faced this time was just being exhausted on Saturday, however, I went to acupuncture and felt a ton better after that appointment. It’s like a wonder drug – for those interested I am treating at Good Point Acupuncture in Round Rock (link found here) and one of the acupuncturists, Yvonne, is a 7-year Triple Negative Breast Cancer SURVIVOR – her blog can be found here. My husband’s work associate, Michelle, told me of her. Talk about God’s divine plan on where I was supposed to go, right?
On chemo days, Friday, and the day after, Saturday, I don’t walk but give my body a chance to heal itself and get a break. Also, that lovely Nulesta shot triggers and starts dispensing around 4 pm on Saturday afternoons and can’t be removed until about 8 pm Saturday night. Sunday’s though I am back at it. Today Tanner and I did a 2.16-mile walk in about 19 (something) minutes. I may not make the Olympics but it sure did well to get out and move my body. For those who aren’t on Facebook, I am posting my picture of the pants that I wore for my walk today. My bestie, Tabitha, bought this for me and I sported them proudly on my walk today. Good for me and sorry if this offends anyone. You’ve got to have some humor while going through all this.
The other thing that I do on Chemo weekends is to eat badly – no idea why but it makes my body happy to have some good old “comfort” food. Today’s choice was a Hamburger from Mighty Fine. It was not the best, Andice General Store is the best (link found here), but they were closed today. I did well tonight and made us Egg Roll in a Bowl for dinner (link found here). I guess there is some redemption there, right?
Today (Sunday) was a good day (PRAISES) – After the walk, I hung out at the house, enjoyed some television, and worked on my Christmas Calendars (I do this every year for my family. This year this is all they’re getting), finished designing my Christmas cards and now it’s time for Yellowstone. (Side note – if you’re not watching Yellowstone – WHAT IN THE HECK ARE YOU DOING???? YOU NEED TO BE WATCHING YELLOWSTONE!) I digress….
Happy Sunday Funday y’all – thank you again for all the prayers, healing thoughts, text messages, and love that you’ve shared with me. You have NO IDEA how much all of it means to me.
Xo,
Tracy
