In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month – I am ready to make an announcement and scream from the top of all buildings how important it is to GET YOUR ANNUAL MAMMOGRAMS!!!!
Apologies in advance for the lengthy post and please do not post any opinions, medical advice, or anything else other than prayers and well wishes.
On September 28th of this year – I was diagnosed with Invasive Ductile Carcinoma and on September 30th I was told that my cancer is Triple Negative Breast Cancer which means it does not feed on Estrogen, Progesterone, or the protein HR2.
My cancer type is one of the more aggressive cancers – but EARLY DETECTION IS THE KEY!
My cancer has been caught in the early stages and the prognosis is positive. My road ahead involves Chemotherapy first, surgery second, and radiation last.
I am ready for the journey and up for the fight. God has blessed me since this diagnosis in more ways than I can begin to share – but I will one day.
I have an amazing support system: My family first (My amazing husband Mano Gialusis, my two sons – Nick and Christian Gialusis, Wonderful mother and father Patricia Mitchem Thompson and Larry Thompson, Beautiful sister and BIL Nicky Thompson Sarris and Phillip Sarris, Fantastic niece and nephew Kendall Sarris and Tanner Sarris, my amazing bonus family “the outlaws :)” Vickie Hicks, Kaliopi Maria Stark, Colt Stark, Vasiliki Katina Bunch and David Bunch.
I live on the best street ever – big shout out to my Hood Rats who sent me the BIGGEST bouquet of flowers after my diagnosis and organized a prayer circle and covered Mano and me in prayer before we drove to meet with my MD Anderson Oncologist. (Cory DeGroot Shepherd, Laura Deddens, Emily Copes Rhodes, Shanna Kosler Schneider, Linda J Bell, Julie Jurica Esquell
I have amazing support at work from my amazing boss Heather Sneed – also a BC Survivor (8 years and counting) and my work partner in crime – Stephanie Mutinelli and so many more.
A special thank you to my bestie since I was young and dumb Tabitha Pannucci – since you know where the bodies are buried, you get top billing.
Last and certainly not least – my friends, my church family who are lifting us up daily, and all the others that I don’t know personally but know that you are carrying us and covering us in prayer. Thank you all for the love and support.
I WILL GET THROUGH THIS!!!
I am starting my own Caring Bridge page to keep you all in the loop. The link is here: https://www.caringbridge.org/visit/tracygialusis
My intention is to provide a weekly update from the chemo chair – might as well, I will have the time. Thank you all again, I love you all more than you’ll ever know.
XOXO!
Tracy
